September 2019 Review

This month I...

-Was a vendor at the Oddities & Curiosities Expo
(It was actually at the end of August, but, whatever.)
This went so well! I sold my target amount and received so many kind comments and even had people return to buy more! I'm looking forward to next year and hoping to maybe expand to a couple shows.

I was able to snag a couple amazing things while at the expo, including this adorable kitten!

-Started wedding planning
We booked our venue and found a photographer, both in our budget!

-Saw IT: Chapter 2
If it's September, I'm already watching scary movies. But that's true nearly year round.

Yellowstone Trip May 2019 - Part 1

Day 1 & 2 Yellowstone. Probably the most diverse scenery I've seen in the span of 2 weeks. I had planned on going to Yellowstone in 2018 with Samantha, on the way back from California, but ended up coming straight home from San Francisco. So, of course, I started planning for a trip specifically to see Yellowstone. I threw out the suggestion to my family that we should all go, and most of them agreed! Having 9 of us go introduced some difficulties but ultimately we got it all worked out and started planning what all we wanted to see along the way. The first day was just driving, we headed to Sioux Falls, SD. Day 2 was jam packed full of sights! The first stop being the Corn Palace. About half of us had been there before, but it never ceases to a-maize! (See what I did there? Eh? No? Too corny? Ahem...moving on.) Next was a ghost town in Okaton. Abandoned places isn't everybody's thing, I know, but since it was right off the highway, we stopped and...

California Adventure 2018 - Part 3

Day 4 A little more leisurely start to the day as we headed to the Cabazon Dinosaurs, maybe you know them from Peewee's Big Adventure (when in Hollywood, visit fun movie locations). We were pretty excited to climb up into the t-rex and were pleasantly surprised to find most of the place was deserted right at opening time. We went in and wandered in a garden of dinosaur sculptures and even got to dig in a sand pit area. If you found enough "fossils" and turned them in at the gift shop you got to pick out a little toy. So, being the children we are, we of course dug up fossils and got our toy. We found out we could also go into the Apatosaurus which was a bit of a museum and had history of the dinosaurs which was pretty cool too. After about an hour at the dinosaurs we continued on to Los Angeles, having plenty of time to hit a couple more spots before checking into our Airbnb. The Museum of Death was a spot we were both stoke...

California Adventure 2018 - Part 2

Day 3 - Las Vegas Waking up in Utah was a bit chilly in the car but we soon would be missing the cool as we continued the two hour drive on to Las Vegas, where it was pretty toasty. Driving down I-15 was beautiful and scenic before we arrived in Nevada. No pictures were taken of the drive because it was pretty early and weren't quite ready to be snapping any photos. Even though we were pretty much just passing through, we had about a half day to spend in Vegas. Samantha had said early on that the one place she wanted to see was Las Vegas, see the sights and drive the strip. The night before she even had CSI playing on her laptop as we drove through the very dark desert on our way to our camping spot in St. George, Utah. The first place she decided she wanted to go was the stratosphere, the tallest freestanding tower overlooking the downtown area. On top of the tower there were also rides that dangled you over the building. Since we had gotten there just as it opened, we p...
